Anniversary Festival “Dvizhenie-25”

In commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the jazz movement in Samara, the Samara region of Russia is organizing the “Dvizhenie-25” anniversary celebrations. Three days of music, mastery, and creativity. Performers from Russia, Europe, and the USA shared the same stage: the jazz trio GKV (St. Petersburg), the INTERPLAY trio (Anton Davidyants, Nathaniel Townsley, Tomasz Bura), and French vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Robin.

PROFDISPLAY, a distributor of professional audiovisual equipment, was responsible for the sound quality at the venue. LAX acoustic systems delivered complete musical immersion across a variety of genres.

The first day of the festival featured a performance by the GKV jazz trio, which presented a program dedicated to Charles Aznavour. The delicacy and emotional depth of the instruments — piano, double bass, and trumpet — posed a real challenge for the equipment.

However, the entire dynamic range of the program, from the softest pianissimo to piercing forte, was handled effortlessly by the LAX ST Series speakers. The result was a rich, clear, and well-balanced sound.

The second day shifted the mood: the INTERPLAY trio performed funk and fusion compositions that demanded powerful, dynamic rhythm transmission. The energetic drums came through with absolute clarity. The density and richness of the rhythmic instruments’ sound were a true highlight, delivering a powerful energy to the audience.

The final day treated the audience to a performance by French artist Robin. His expressive voice, enhanced by his trumpet playing, was a brilliant closing to the festival. Vocal reproduction is one of the most challenging tasks for audio systems — but the ST Series, equipped with the innovative B&C DCX464 coaxial mid-high driver, handled it beautifully.

Denis Viktorovich Rybakov, Artistic Director of the festival, summed up the musical celebration by praising the sound production team:

At the ‘Dvizhenie-25’ festival, artists with completely different lineups and genres performed, each with their own unique sound preferences. Yet all of them sounded excellent on this equipment, and it met all their needs. I was left with a very positive impression of the concerts. Even the audience noted the clear, intelligible sound with good density. The instruments’ sound unfolded fully throughout the hall and seemed to ‘embrace’ the listener.

A key part of the festival’s success was the professional approach of sound engineer Dmitry Nesterov, who oversaw the technical side of the event. He ensured not only flawless sound quality but also attention to every detail — something both organizers and musicians noticed and appreciated.

Dmitry’s comment:

While configuring the LAX sound system used at the festival — consisting of the ST210 top and ST218BP subwoofer— I immediately noted the system’s high efficiency, dynamic performance, and responsiveness.

The LAX ST210 acoustic modules deliver excellent tonal balance with virtually no resonance — a common issue in horn-loaded systems. A high-quality coaxial driver covers the mid and high-frequency range from 300 Hz, while two 10-inch woofers handle the mid-bass range effectively.

It’s worth mentioning that the speaker size is fairly large due to the use of beamforming technology, which ensures focused mid-low frequency coverage.

The ST218BP subwoofer, designed as a band-pass system, fully reveals its potential when paired with the MT Series amplifiers, which offer high power, excellent damping factor, and built-in limiters. The subwoofer delivers high sound pressure with well-articulated low frequencies, making it a perfect match for this speaker system.

The “Dvizhenie-25” festival clearly demonstrated how music can unite, inspire, and create unforgettable moments. And when high-level artistry meets professional technical support, the result is truly exceptional.

Equipment that delivered flawless sound:

• Speakers: ST210, ST218BP

• Processing and amplification: MT1300, MT2400, DSP48-II
